"Candle vs Reed? Which one should I get?"

Amanda, Cork - A popular question. While reed diffusers are a relative newcomer they have made a big mark on the world of home fragrance. Their advantage over candles is that they're flameless, so they're ideal for fragrancing places where you might not spend a lot of time like hallways and bathrooms. Candles are perfect for enjoying a couple of hours of relaxation time, in the bedroom or your favourite spot to curl up with a good book.

"How do Reed Diffusers work?'

Will, Cork - Reed diffusers work by letting porous reeds (usually made of rattan) soak up perfumed oil, usually contained in a glass bottle. Then, when the reeds are turned over, the oil naturally evaporates into the air, releasing the fragrance into the room. It's as simple as that!

"Do you have any tips for making my reed diffuser last longer?"

Sarah, Wiltshire - You can control how strong the scent is by the number of reeds which you use (more reeds will give you more evaporating oils, and a stronger scent), and remember that a warm room will cause your oil to evaporate more quickly, so don't place your diffuser close to a radiator or other heat source. If you think that you can't smell your reed diffuser any more, turn your reeds over to release more fragrance. I also like to gently swirl the oils in the bottle, or move it to a different room.
