Discover the shared Celebration of Light and Colour: Rathbornes and Holi
A Celebration of Colour, Love, and Renewal: As winter fades and spring blossoms, Holi—the festival of colours—fills streets, hearts, and skies with vibrant hues. What began as an ancient Hindu tradition in India has now become a global celebration of joy, togetherness, and new beginnings, embraced in cities from Dublin to New York, London to Sydney.

Traditionally, people come together to play with coloured powders (gulal), symbolising love and unity. The night before, bonfires are lit for Holika Dahan, signifying renewal and the victory of light over darkness.
Inspired by the Indic philosophies and Hindu symbolism the festival represents the celebration of life, the victory of good over evil, the arrival of spring and the celebration of love.
At Rathbornes 1488, we resonate with Holi’s themes of light, warmth, and sensory delight. Just as Holi fills the air with colour and fragrance, our heritage candles bring the essence of tradition and celebration into homes. Whether through the golden glow of candlelight or the evocative scent of spring blooms, we cherish the power of sensory experiences that unite people across cultures.
